Twitch Poker Table Manager v1.0

Since I started my new job (more on that in another post) I’ve found that the VBA training I did in the Spring has almost completely left my head. The remnants are still there but during my week off, I decided to do a bit of a refresher so it wasn’t all lost to time. Anyway… I had one of my favourite Twitch Poker streams on in the background and some of the overlay got me thinking about how much effort it must be to manage every table. Adding the tournament names to OBS should be easy enough, but then you have to manage the Buy In amount, watch for…

The Poker Journey Begins

Well, I finally did it. I pulled the trigger and put a sizable chunk of my savings into my PokerStars account and I’m going to start playing and streaming more consistently. I want to get better at poker, run my bankroll up and aim to be profitable instead of the hit and miss player I’ve been up until now and build my streaming confidence and ability. I made the decision on Sunday night and originally, I had attempted to make the deposit so I could stream straight away… but my bank and PokerStars had other ideas. I must have spent a good hour putting numbers into a spreadsheet to work…

OP-Poker Home Game Win

Last night I learned the importance of Community. I’ve been watching the likes of Lex, Tonka, the Staples Brothers, OP-Poker, Arlie and several others for the last year or so, wishing I could pull the trigger and start up properly. I’ve done a few streams and spent a fair bit of time designing the interface and overlays etc but knowing I’m not properly bankrolled and making several behavioural mistakes (see last blog) I’ve not been able to commit to a schedule or start playing regularly offline at the stakes that I want to. They do what they do with the support of Twitch, PokerStars and subscriptions and I’ve always said…

What Am I Doing Wrong?

Having just finished up a stream that has knocked my confidence and caused me a level of frustration, I’ve had to turn my head off for an hour or so and reflect on what I’m doing that is preventing me from succeeding. I understand that with poker the variance can lead to downswings and this is to be expected, but I know myself that it isn’t to do with variance and there are other things I’m doing on stream and off stream that are holding me back. I had a long think about it and I’ve condensed it down into 3 major areas of focus. No Bankroll / Bankroll Management…

Winning the $7.50 Bounty Builder

Before my stupid immune system started to play up and I had some actual dreams that I wanted to accomplish, I wrote out a list of things that I wanted to achieve in 2019. Some of them were a bit daft such as gaining 1,000 followers on Instagram and Twitch which were more for me to gauge how well I was doing as a personal brand of myself – however there were 2 performance related goals that I was hopeful about, but ultimately worried about missing out on. Final Table a Multi-Table Tournament and Win a Multi-Table Tournament – I did add that I wanted to do these both whilst…

Getting It In Good, Losing, Rinse & Repeat

An aspect of poker that I struggle with is the idea of getting my chips in with the best hand and getting outdrawn… mainly because I have gotten it in good with the best hand and still been sucked out on time after time after time and each time it happens I feel a piece of me soul die and never return. So now, whenever I get called and I turn over my hand, I already know that if its pair over pair that they will hit their set or if its AK vs AQ they will spike the Queen – it is a horrible mindset to be in but…

Preparation For Vegas

In August this year, I’m going to be embarking on a holiday of my dreams… a week in Las Vegas with my friends in a luxury villa off the main strip with dreams of making some money and avoiding being fried to death in the Nevada desert sun. But before I go, I need to put some solid hours in getting properly back up to speed on my poker game. I’ve played odd tournaments here and there over the last couple of months but not consistently – mainly because I get my chips in good and fly into raging monkey tilt when I get beaten by the worst hand. In…
